The AllAboutArts Festival is a brand new online music festival offering a platform for amateur musicians and singers to perform in front of professional adjudicators and to receive feedback for their performances. The Festival exists to encourage and promote the performance and enjoyment of arts. Aiming particularly, but not exclusively, at young people it provides a challenge and a unique opportunity to perform in front of adjudicators, all experienced professionals, who will give instant comments and helpful advice. Audiences appreciate hearing these assessments immediately instead of having to wait until the end of the class, and performers really enjoy the chance to work on their pieces with an experienced adjudicator. The three highest scores in each class will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and all participants will receive a certificate.

The Festival is run jointly by Swindon Music Trust, Virtual Virtuosos Ltd and Swindon Music Co-operative, with all proceeds going to the Swindon Music Trust which provides access to funding for instrumental lessons for children in the local area.

Our inaugural Festival will be only offering classes for Piano but we hope to be expanding this to include all instruments, Dance, Drama, Speech and even fine arts like sculpture and photography in the future.

Adjudicators

As a provisional member of the The British and International Federation of Festivals, we are lucky to have access to some very experienced and professional adjudicators for the AllAboutArts Festival.

For 2022 our adjudicator is Graeme Humphrey.

Graeme Humphrey

Piano

Graeme Humphrey has been a teacher of piano all his professional life, both at the Royal Academy of Music for thirty-six years from 1974 – 2010, and privately. He has also been very actively involved in festival adjudicating and examining – work which has taken him all over the world.

He was awarded an Associated Board piano scholarship from New Zealand to study at the Royal Academy of Music. He regularly teaches in Hong Kong and China and was external examiner at National Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore from 2009 – 2011. In 1988 he founded the Blackheath Music Festival in London. From 1993 – 2010 he tutored at the Shrewsbury International Summer School and was Music Director of the Summer School from 2004 – 2010. In 1997 he was elected Warden of the Private Teachers’ Section of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, and in 2002 was elected President of the Royal Academy of Music Club. He has recently been involved in the selecting and editing of a major new piano duet project that is republishing long out-of-print beginner and intermediate level duet material, primarily for the pupil/teacher. Graeme Humphrey is an Adjudicator member of the British and Internal Federation of Festivals and in 2013 was made a Fellow of British and International Federation of Festivals.
